States and Markets reading group

This reading group will begin with Giovanni Arrighi’s “The Long Twentieth Century” and meet every other Wednesday. Through Arrighi’s analysis of how state power and capital accumulation have intertwined across historical cycles, we can better understand the ongoing transformations in global political-economic relations. After completing Arrighi’s work (approximately 6 encounters), we’ll collectively decide how to continue our exploration of these themes.
