About:
The YSI Economic History Working Group have the great pleasure to invite you to our next webinar in the series on the Global Financial Crisis as History. We are delighted to have Prof. Avner Offer present his work on "The market Turn: from Social Democracy to Market Liberalism". In this paper, Prof. Offer analyses the transition from Social Democracy to Market Liberalism through the lens of two macroeconomic financial innovations that shaped the social outcomes in each period respectively, i.e. the rise of public expenditure and the rise of household debt.
