Building a truly inclusive circular economy requires recognizing and valuing the vital contributions of informal entrepreneurs, whose roles are often overlooked in both policy and academic discussions. Around the world, millions of individuals—waste pickers, repair artisans, and recyclers—sustain circular practices out of necessity, not only supporting their own livelihoods but also driving environmental and social benefits for their communities. Yet, their voices and knowledge are too often excluded from mainstream circular economy frameworks, which tend to focus on formal-sector, technocentric solutions shaped by Global North priorities.
Our conviction is that equity and recognition are foundational to meaningful sustainability. By bringing attention to the ingenuity and resilience of informal entrepreneurs, we hope to challenge prevailing narratives and advocate for a circular transition that ???????????????????????? ???????? ???????????? ????????????????????????.
