Following our successful partnership last year, we’re excited to announce that the Young Scholars Initiative in collaboration with WAPLAC – Network on Welfare and Policy in Latin American and the Caribbean – is once again launching a dedicated YSI workshop at this year’s WAPLAC international conference in Quito!
💡 This year’s themes:
🔹Tax-benefit systems, redistribution and poverty
🔹Informal employment, labor markets dynamics and working conditions.
🔹Welfare programs and their impacts on education and health inequalities.
🔹Equality of Opportunity and Intergenerational Mobility
🔹Perceptions of richness, fairness, income inequality, and wellbeing.
🔹Political economy, voting attitudes, social unrest and the middle class, and other determinants of societal change.

✅ This YSI session is a great opportunity to present your work, receive feedback, and connect with a network of scholars across regions and disciplines. Thanks to support from YSI, we will be able to provide partial funding for selected participants!
