Following our successful partnership last year, we’re excited to announce that the Young Scholars Initiative in collaboration with WAPLAC – Network on Welfare and Policy in Latin American and the Caribbean – is once again launching a dedicated YSI workshop at this year’s WAPLAC international conference in Quito!
This year’s themes:
Tax-benefit systems, redistribution and poverty
Informal employment, labor markets dynamics and working conditions.
Welfare programs and their impacts on education and health inequalities.
Equality of Opportunity and Intergenerational Mobility
Perceptions of richness, fairness, income inequality, and wellbeing.
Political economy, voting attitudes, social unrest and the middle class, and other determinants of societal change.
This YSI session is a great opportunity to present your work, receive feedback, and connect with a network of scholars across regions and disciplines. Thanks to support from YSI, we will be able to provide partial funding for selected participants!
