Annual Meeting of the Fudan-Latin America University Consortium

The 6th Annual Meeting of the Fudan-Latin America University Consortium (FLAUC) is a unique academic gathering that offers a platform for researchers, policymakers, and innovators from both Latin America and China to engage in high-level discussions on some of the most pressing global challenges. This year, the congress will be hosted by the University of Buenos Aires and organized by the Latin American Observatory of Science and Technology (OLAC), part of the IGEDECO Institute.

The congress presents a rare opportunity to be part of a dialogue that transcends national borders, focusing on issues that are critical not only to academic discourse but also to shaping policies and technological advancements in both regions. Participants will have the chance to:

1. Engage with cutting-edge research: Around 70 papers will be presented, addressing crucial topics such as:
   • Innovation Systems and Sustainable Development Models
   • AI, Digital Transformation, and Development
   • Energy Transition
   • Governance and Geopolitics
   • Investment and Trade
   • Society and Culture
2. Learn from experts: The event will feature leading researchers and key figures from the fields of innovation, technological development, and science and technology policies, both from Latin America and China. Their insights will provide valuable perspectives on how these regions are tackling shared challenges, from environmental sustainability to digital transformation.
3. Network and Collaborate: The congress is designed to foster meaningful academic and professional exchanges. Attendees will have ample opportunities to meet other scholars, policy experts, and industry leaders, opening doors for future collaborations that could have lasting impacts on research and policy development.

Specifically, the participants or young scholars will present their academic papers, research projects, final assignments, and thesis progress in the various thematic sessions. They will also participate in the different panels discussing the most relevant issues in the fields of development, science, technology, and innovation . The format encourages dialogue and debate, ensuring that participants have a voice in shaping the direction of these discussions. Additionally, the congress will serve as a springboard for future cooperation between Latin American and Chinese institutions, particularly in fields related to sustainable development and technological innovation.

La 6ª Reunión Anual del Consorcio Universitario Fudan-América Latina (FLAUC) es un encuentro académico  que ofrece una plataforma para que investigadores, formuladores de políticas e innovadores de América Latina y China participen en debates de alto nivel sobre algunos de los desafíos globales más. urgentes. Este año, el congreso se realizará  en la Universidad de Buenos Aires y será organizado por el Observatorio Latinoamericano de Ciencia y Tecnología (OLAC) , parte del Instituto IGEDECO .

El congreso representa una oportunidad única de participar en un diálogo que trasciende las fronteras nacionales y se centra en cuestiones fundamentales,  no sólo para el discurso académico, sino también para la formulación de políticas y los avances tecnológicos en ambas regiones. Los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de:

1. Participar en investigaciones de vanguardia : se presentarán alrededor de 70 artículos que abordarán temas cruciales como:
   • Sistemas de innovación y modelos de desarrollo sostenible
   • Inteligencia artificial, transformación digital y desarrollo
   • Transición energética
   • Gobernanza y geopolítica
   • Inversión y comercio
   • Sociedad y cultura
2. Aprendizaje  : El evento contará con la participación de destacados investigadores y figuras clave en los campos de la innovación, el desarrollo tecnológico y las políticas científicas y tecnológicas, tanto de América Latina como de China. Sus aportes brindarán perspectivas valiosas sobre cómo estas regiones están abordando desafíos compartidos, desde la sostenibilidad ambiental hasta la transformación digital.
3. Establecer contactos y redes de colaboración : el congreso está diseñado para fomentar intercambios académicos y profesionales significativos. Los asistentes tendrán amplias oportunidades de conocer a otros académicos, expertos en políticas y líderes de la industria, lo que abrirá  puertas a futuras colaboraciones que podrían tener impactos duraderos en la investigación y el desarrollo de políticas.
