Description

Industrial Development and Innovation Policies have made a comeback to the economic debate as Latin America is discussing about structural change to accelerate the processes of transformation of its productive structure in the post-Covid aftermath. As Latin American Working Group, we believe it is essential to discuss these central issues both at the regional and at country level.

The 5th edition of SITEPE – jointly organized by the Institute of Economic Research of the UNAM and Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE) – aims to present proposals for instruments, interventions and public policies to promote industrial development and technological innovation in emerging economies, specific productive sectors, and regional value chains alike. In particular, we welcome contributions on the following areas:

  • Agriculture and agribusiness.
  • Manufacturing and local linkages.
  • Services and technological innovation.
  • Traditional financing and new alternatives.
  • Employment, wages, and industrial policy.
  • Industrial development with an environmental perspective.

The event will be held on March 22, 2023, on site. Selected works will be presented in the seminar and will receive feedbacks from experts in the subject.
