Description

The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), the Young Scholars Initiative’s Complexity Economics Working Group (YSI – CEWG) and the Latin American Network for Economics of Learning, Innovation and Competence Building Systems (LALICS) invite you to submit a proposal paper to the 1st PhD Forum on Complexity Economics and Economics of Innovation, that will be placed at the Economics Institute of UFRJ, in Rio de Janeiro, from 18th to 19th, February, 2019. This activity is part of the “Summer Course on Model-Based Macroeconomics”.

Topics of interest:
• Models of complex economic systems
• Agent-based models
• Applications of economic, ecological, or social networks
• Innovation and technological change
• Input-Output analyses and related methods
• Structural decomposition analysis

In the forum, mentors and senior scholars are supposed to give feedback to the students, reading previously their work and raising comments during presentations. The audience will consist of PhD students and young scholars (5 years since earning a PhD degree). Students are going to be grouped by research topic, presenting their work in parallel sessions. Each parallel session will be compounding by 4 presentations (20 minutes each) with time for feedback and questions reserved for mentors and the audience.

We benefit from the opportunity of having a considerable part of the local scientific community reunited in the “Rio’s Summer Course on Model-Based Macroeconomics” main event, which starts right after the Forum. We
