The Keynesian Economics Working Group is pleased to have José Barrales-Ruiz giving an introductory lecture on Machine Learning for Economics on March 31st, 13 UTC. Join us!
In very simple terms, Machine Learning is viewed as an econometric tool that builds algorithms to be applied to datasets. It has been increasingly used in economics, but not many economics research programs offer classes or even present the topic to young students. This intro lecture aims to help these students get a head start and be more equipped to look for more content on the topic.
Our invited lecturer currently works at the Department of Economics, Catholic University of the Most Holy Conception in Chile, and got his PhD at the University of Utah. Jose does research in Monetary Economics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics.
