Description

The RECIR Workshop alongside YSI Latin America is an academic event, organized by the Ecuadorian Network of Regional Science (RECIR, acronym in Spanish), aiming to establish a workspace for two main objectives:

  • Nurturing young researchers and students from a senior scholar.
  • Interaction among scholars from the Ecuadorian Network of Regional Science.

Our invited professor is Prof. Camilla Lenzi. She is Full Professor of Regional and Urban Economics at Politecnico di Milano. She holds an MSc in Industry and Innovation Analysis from SPRU – University of Sussex (UK) and a PhD in Economics from University of Pavia. She is involved in several EU funded projects in the frame of the H2020 program and acted as project manager and senior researcher for two major ESPON studies (KIT and T4 projects). She has published on several international journals. She acted as editor of two special issues in Regional Science Policy and Practice and Scienze Regionali and co-authored two books. She currently acts as secretary of the Italian Section of the Regional Science Association International (AISRe) for the term 2022-2025.

Scholars from the Ecuadorian Network of Regional Science and from universities in Quito, Ecuador are invited to participate in this workshop to benefit from cutting-edge research in regional science, academic exchange and network building with other researchers in the field.

During this workshop, we will have three consecutive events:

1. Seminar with an open audience: “Automation, market power and inequalities”.
