Young Scholars Co-operative Law Summer School

The Young Scholars initiative-YSI (Co-operative Working Group) in collaboration with the International Centre for Co-operative Management (St. Mary’s University, Canada) is organizing the Young Scholars Co-operative Law Summer School hosted at the J. Dobrila University of Pula (Croatia) on 20th to 30th August, 2023 alongside the International Co-operative Law Summer School. The Summer School will build the links between cooperative law, Co-operative Identity (ICA 1995), and sustainable development. Bringing together scholars and practitioners worldwide, the summer school seeks to answer many cooperative law questions, for example, how are values and principles translated into legal rules and practice? What types of rules are fitting, and what may cause the degeneration of cooperative enterprise? How do the legal structural elements of co-operatives relate to aspects of sustainable development? This summer school provides a platform for knowledge exchange among young scholars while learning from senior scholars with an international perspective. The school is relevant to scholars from all types of co-operatives and mutuals, in all sectors of the economy including the social and solidarity economy.
