Young Scholars Workshop Alongside the ICA-CCR Asia and Pacific 2022

The ICA-CCR Asia and Pasific Conference comes as an opportunity for the cooperative movement to reflect on its role in crisis, and its role in rebuilding a resilient global society. The Conference provides a platform for researchers in the cooperative sector to come together to share resources and provide an opportunity to foster new connections for potential future collaborations.The presenters will deliberate as to what extent this unprecedented global crisis is a challenge but also an opportunity for the cooperative movement as a whole. As cooperatives innovate in their sectors of activity and in their typologies, the conference will gather leading thoughts from around the region and across sectors to reflect on our strategies and practices in order to continue building a better world. For young and emergent scholars in this field, this is an invaluable opportunity to connect with others who face similar challenges in conducting research in this growing inter-disciplinary field and one that is growing more urgent as we try to address the challenges posed by traditional economic thought.

The Young Scholars Program has been a collaborative venture between YSI and the ICA for over 6 years. Together, we have organized workshops on 5 continents and have brought together over 120 scholars that have used the network to further their research. This year, we will hold a one day workshop for young scholars to share in their varied experiences in the field. The workshop will be an in-person workshop with various discussion topics and a panel of senior practitioners and scholars to provide some guidance.

The discussion topics and panel will reflect the interest of the participants which will be gathered through the application process.
