Description

EPOG (Economic POlicies for the Global transition) is a master’s programme that has been created in 2012 with the support of the European Commission, under the “Erasmus Mundus Master’s Course” label. For eight cohorts (2013-2022), the programme has trained in political economy more than 250 outstanding students from all over the world, with a strong emphasis on critical and institutionalist approaches.

At the moment, EPOG includes two master’s programmes, EPOG 2 and EPOG+. The EPOG+ programme has been selected as a programme of excellence by the European Commission as an “Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree”. It is coordinated by the University of Compiègne with, as partners (degree awarding institutions): Sorbonne University, University of Paris, University of Turin, Berlin School of Economics and Law, University Rome 3, Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of the Witwatersrand. It has more than 30 associated partners from both academic and non-academic institutions worldwide which host students as guest researchers. INET is among these associated partners and many YSI members are also EPOG alumni. This partnership dates from 2015, when two EPOG students suggested the creation of what ended up being the Economics of Innovation working group. Since then, both networks have collaborated on several occasions, including previous EPOG Conferences. Many EPOG students stay in academia by pursuing PhDs or stay connected to the field of economics through careers in public policy, making the EPOG alumni a great group for potential engagement in YSI.
