YSI @ UNFCCC COP29 Azerbaijan

The purpose of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is to convene Member Countries every year to determine ambition and responsibilities and identify and assess climate measures. The 21st session of the COP (COP21) led to the Paris Agreement, which mobilized global collective action to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels at the latest by the end of the century by achieving net zero emission by 2050 at the latest and to act to adapt to the already existing effects of climate change. This year, COP29 will be held from November 11 until November 23, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan.

We as the YSI Community, who participated last year in COP28 in the UAE and created several engagements together with a series of Webinars: “The UNFCCC COP28 Webinar Series”: https://heske.wisdmlabs.net/view-single-project/?wdmea_project=1&wmd_entry=1181. This year, we aim to continue the participation in this important event with the objective of continuing to engage the YSI Community from the ground of Baku, Azerbaijan as the COP29 is taking place.
