YSI Workshop @ PK Conference: Economic Possibilities for our Children

The Pos-Keynesian Conference to take place in Lille in December 2023 has as the main theme a discussion of Keynes' essay "Economic Possibilities for our Children". In that paper, written more than 90 years ago, the author tried to anticipate which economic situation would prevail 100 years latter.

Nevertheless, to help us think about current problems it can be useful to discuss not only Keynes view, but the advances of other scholars' that came after Keynes, building on their work. Therefore, the Keynesian and the Financial Stability Working Group would like to promote a pre-event to discuss how the post-Keyenesian ideas can be help us re-think our current economic problems such as dealing with the ecological problem, increase inequality, national and international financial stability, global imbalances among others. We will be discussing our own views on this issue together with senior scholars who attend the conference.

Our pre-conference workshop will take place on the morning of December 6th. Selected young scholars are expected to attend the pre-conference and main conference events.
