DESCRIPTION:The Winter Workshop on Complex Systems (WWCS 2026) is a week-long research event taking place from January 25–30\, 2026\, in Spain. It brings together early-career researchers from around the world to collaboratively explore interdisciplinary topics in complexity science. More than a traditional academic workshop\, WWCS provides an environment where participants can propose original ideas\, develop them into concrete projects\, and often publish results in leading journals\, reecting the depth and quality of the work produced during the event. Founded in 2014 by researchers connected through the Santa Fe Institute Summer School\, WWCS has steadily gained recognition in the complexity science community. In 2022\, it was honored with the Complex Systems Society Service Award for its lasting impact. The workshop is built around the values of collaboration\, creativity\, and inclusivity. Participants from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds contribute to a dynamic atmosphere and innovative thinking. Themes span the full spectrum of complexity science\, with content largely shaped by the participants themselves\, who propose and lead research projects aligned with their interests. The week culminates in a presentation session where teams share preliminary ndings\, often the foundation for long-term collaborations. Accessibility is also central to WWCS. By keeping registration fees low and offering nancial support\, the organizers ensure broad participation regardless of funding situation.
