SUMMARY:YSI Pre Conference: 67th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Italian Economic Association (SIE)
DESCRIPTION:YSI – SIE Pre-Conference 2026\nThe Italian Economic Association is organizing its 67th Annual Scientific Meeting in Cagliari. The SIE Annual Scientific Meeting is one of the largest and most important gatherings of the Italian academic economics community\, bringing together scholars from universities and research institutions across Italy and abroad. It provides a central space for presenting new research\, discussing current debates in economics\, and strengthening academic networks across different fields and generations of economists. \nThe YSI pre-conference will provide a space for young scholars to present work in progress and receive detailed feedback from peers and senior researchers. The event will include paper presentations by selected young scholars\, comments from peers and invited discussants\, and open discussion. Participants will also be encouraged to attend the main conference\, where they will be able to engage with the broader conference program\, participate in academic sessions\, and connect with researchers and institutions active in the Italian economics community. \nYSI will provide with funding to cover travel (within the region) and accommodation for selected participants\, while SIE has supported the initiative by offering conference fee waivers. \nThis year’s pre-conference will focus on themes related to technology\, industrial transformation\, international trade\, and industrial policy. We invite young scholars to submit abstract proposals on topics including\, but not limited to: \n\nTechnology\, artificial intelligence\, labor markets\, and digital platforms\nIndustrial policy\, innovation\, and structural transformation\nGlobal value chains\, FDI\, and international technology transfer\nInternational trade\, development\, and unequal exchange\n\n  \nImportant dates: \n\nDeadline for applications: 10th of august\nAcceptance notification: 20th of august\nYSI–SIE Pre-Conference: 24th of October\nSIE Annual Scientific Meeting: 22nd\, 23rd and 24th of October\n\nApplication has to be completed in the following form: https://forms.gle/49NakCzByXRLrMr2A

DESCRIPTION:In partnership with the Forum for Macroeconomics and Macroeconomics Policy (FMM)\, the Keynesian Economics Working Group of YSI is glad to open a call to offer partial travel stipends and accommodation* to young scholars who will present at the 30th FMM Conference. The conference will take place from 22 to 24 October 2026 in Berlin. \n*Before applying\, please note that the FMM already covers accommodation for graduate student session presenters. If this applies to you\, you may only apply for the YSI travel support\, not accommodation.
