Description

A workshop with sessions for paper presentations and career development for young scholars, jointly organised with the Swedish Economic History Association (SEAA), the Scandinavian Society for Economic and Social History (SSESH), and the Economic History Department, Lund University. The schedule features invited speakers (senior members of the societies) and short paper presentations. The event takes place on 26-27 September before the joint annual conference, 27-29 September 2023. An open call, and abstract review process will be jointly coordinated by host-organisations.

The workshop features:
• Paper development presentations by doctoral students with feedback and discussion
• A workshop on academic career and publishing

With generous financial support from the YSI, the organizing committee offers the financial support to selected doctoral students:
• Travel to and from Lund
• Accommodation for Tuesday 26 September 2023

Applications to attend the workshop can be made any doctoral student who is undertaking a PhD in the fields of economic and social history, broadly defined. The organizing committee is committed to diversity and inclusion, and so especially encourages applications from doctoral students from under-represented groups.
Applications should be received no later than 31 July 2023. Late submissions will not be considered. Applications will be considered by a panel appointed by the YSI and the Swedish Economic History Association. Your application will be confidential.
Doctoral students interested in the workshop are invited to submit their PhD dissertation abstract of no more than 300 words, a short-CV along with their intention to the event
