YSI Workshop on Conjuncture Analysis @ IX Seminar of Development and Policy

The YSI Workshop aims aims to provide young scholars (Master and PhD Students) theoretical and methodological tools to elaborate Economic Conjuncture Analysis with a policy-oriented focus. During the workshop, participants will improve their capacity to: Understand the theoretical principles of Economic Conjuncture Analysis; Identify the main methodologies used to set up an Economic Conjuncture Analysis; Map – through studies based on the updated literature – the practical factors influencing the dynamics of economic events; Examine – through the study and criticism of empirical texts dedicated to Conjunctural Analyses – the phenomena and events associated with the recent Brazilian economic experience.
The workshop is going to be held as a side-event with the IX Seminar on Development and Policy (Seminário de Desenvolvimento e Políticas Públicas) in November 17-18, 2022. This will be the second YSI participation in this event. The first workshop, in 2020, was held as an online event due to the Pandemics.
Application Process:
PhD Students and Early Careers are invited to submit an extended abstract (maximum of 10000 characters) of their research before October 28. Partial travel support can be offered for selected participants depending on funds availability. The workshop is free of charge. Selected participants are also invited to participate in the main event free of charge.
