Description
This reading group aims at exploring how the perspective of the postcolonial scholarship could open up new approaches to philosophy of economics/economic methodology. Our endeavor is inspired by the vibrant discussion on the need, possibility and promise of decolonizing economics. Once a month we will read and meet online to discuss a selection of chapters from the edited volume titled "Postcolonialism Meets Economics" by S. Charusheela and Eiman Zein-Elabdin.
Session 3 – May 26, 4pm CET:
• Ch6: The hungry ghost: IMF policy, global capitalist transformation, and laboring bodies in Southeast Asia by JOSEPH MEDLEY AND LORRAYNE CARROLL
