YSI Germany Hub

The second meeting of the YSI Germany Hub will take place on 10 August at the JFKI at Freie Universität in Berlin from 15:00 to 19:00. YSI Hubs are a space in which YSI members, regardless of Working Group affiliation, can meet, get to know each other, and brainstorm project ideas. The meeting will be in English and is open to all YSI members based in Germany. If you are in the area, please stop by! And if you cannot join this time but would be interested in participating, please also let us know and we can add you to our Whatsapp group where we share relevant information pertaining to the life of a young scholar doing new economic thinking in Germany.

In this meeting, during the first two hours, we will have an open roundtable on the global financial system, where some participants will make short remarks on different issues related to the topic (including the characteristics of the global banking and shadow banking system, finance and colonialism, the role of finance in the green transition, the gender strategies of international financial institutions, among others) based on their ongoing research and then everyone will be invited to intervene so we have an open conversation and explore avenues for potential collaboration. During the second two hours, we will discuss organizational points pertaining to the Germany Hub, such as date and place for our new meeting, topic, among others. After the meeting, we will go or drinks and dinner.
